Tiller drive. Push for 10' of alteration but it goes to 30'-40' and stays there.Any suggestions please?

I have the tiller pilot 10, and have gone through 2 units so far, one, the sensing magnets were chewed up,and the second, some triaks blew up on the small pcb.

If your tiller pilot 10 is making a squeeling noise, unscrew the dback cap at the end of the pushrod, and put some oil in there!!, took me ages to figure out where the sqweeling was emanating from!

Any steel or magnets found their way to near the compass?
Does the compass readout look abut right?
