Could anybody recommend an East Coast mattress maker that can make me a new decent matress that is not all plasticy and is comfortable too? I've had enough of sleeping on PVC covered foam.
I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I did search, honest, and came up with stuff on ramblers on coastal paths or bays with seahorses in them!
I don’t have a dinghy at present. I used to have a flubber, but for various reasons it is no longer in my possession. So I am a traditional...
I have an old trysail that was original with the boat – it is heavy cream flax cotton but as it is rarely used, has started to develop some signs mildew; probably from being stored and never being used. I was thinking of tanning the sail to give it better protection, but wondering what...
Sorry, don't have the rag this month so not very informed. I'm in London this week and was wondering whether there anything at the show worth going to in terms of the classic's stand or has change in ownership meant cut backs?
Does anybody know what happend to this lovely Frederick Shepperd yawl? She was last for sale a couple of years back at Woolverstone to recover outstanding marina costs but seems to have dissapeared from the East Coast. Would love to know what happened to her.
Looking for somebody to point me in the direction of a supplier of a decent (canvas) tarp suppplier in the East Coast (25' x 12') at recession prices - any ideas?
OK, well I managed to muster enough gumption to attempt the deadwood bolts. They are 3/8th inch and I set up a guide and drift and with several huge wallops (in the confines of a tiny cabin) I managed to shift the bolt about an inch. But my drift, being quite thin 1/4 inch, has now clearly...
I am looking to complete a cabin table with leaves that flip over on the top to make a smaller table with fiddle rails; much better than drop down leaves inho.
I think I will use backflap hinges but was wondering how these fit as there is a small knuckle/notch on the middle of each hinge that...
OK, I have to admit that Roach had one, just one, of those ghastly new-style seacocks on her engine intake. Yup - I know, I know - but at long last I have got a brand-new Blakes to replace it.
So here is my dilemma: I remove the old 3/4 inch one (for the hose that is) only to find the hole in...
Clear-out due to move:
Two tins of 500ml rubber effect varnish from Epifanes. Never opened although some odd bits of surface rust on one of the lids. Collection from w. London before Saturday or Woodbridge thereafter.
Bought for £13.90 a tin but willing to sell for fiver each.
PS...
Has anybody on their travels tried using Sherwin William's Seaguard tropical grade no. 45 antifouling? It is a semi-hard antifouling with high solids - if anybody has would be interested to hear of performance as I am not familiar with the brand.
....and how do you rate it?
I am interested to know who have and use hard tenders and stow them onboard. I am trying to work out whether it is worth building a hard dinghy for Roach this winter. Before looking at designs I would like to know whether the concept is worth persuing or shall I...
Can I use polyester resin over epoxy? For one reason and another I have run out of epoxy and the only thing I can get hold of is polyester resin. It is not being used to bond, just to coat/seal the inside of a dinghy.
