The cheap and cheerful Aldi Workzone after many years of regular use has spilled it's guts. In my best practical way I confirmed this and don't think it's mendable. On my round trip to the dump for its trip to Valhalla l would like to replace it. Any recommendations for something that I can use...
My multimeter has died. It was only a cheapie but has done as much as my limited knowledge has needed for a number of years.
I would like to hear what current makes you think are good value.
I'll leave the other bad puns up to you, but any recommendations gratefully received. Thanks.
How much would you do? Would you expect it to be anti fouled, polished, squeaky clean, or would you be happy to take on the work? I am talking about sub £10k boats.
Is there any update on the future of the outer harbour now that the wind farm no longer wish to operate from Wells? I should think that the loss of revenue will be difficult to recover, even if it's opened up to leisure users. Operating the dredger can't be cheap, and possibly not sustainable...
I have surplus to requirements the Admiralty Leisure Chart Folio for the East Coast Orford to Whitby First edition sc5614 year 2007 in as new condition, and the Imray 2000 Suffolk and Essex Coasts from 2004 2005. in as new condition. I am asking just £20 plus postage for each set, or £40 for both.
Well, we finally moved from East to West. Now in West Wales, Milford Haven to be precise. Looking forward to new adventures with deeper water under the keel. I believe Full Circle came this way but from once being a prolific poster now seems to have disappeared.
Have fun with the new normal.
Today my yacht made the trip by road from Grimsby where the HCA Berthmaster had kindly removed the mast for transport to Milford Haven. We got the mast up but I think I need a bit of advice on how to tension the rigging. Simple masthead, twin backstays, roller reefing, uppers and two stays each...
I am going to have my yacht moved by road transport from Grimsby to Rudders in Milford Haven. Is there anyone wanting a boat transport the other way? It would cut costs considerably. P M me for details please.
At the moment I am fairly flexible, but would like to get it done early July.
Thanks.
With perfect timing we moved home to West Wales from the East of England last December and have a major renovation project ongoing.
Not having time to make arrangements, my yacht is still in Lockdown in Grimsby.
Two considerations occur, firstly where would you choose as a good place to sail...
This came off a Kingfisher 26 and I bought it for my Kingfisher 30. All the fittings included. The vane has a nice painting of a blue parrot which was the name of the boat it came from. Now I am selling up so this must go. If you look at the Kingfisher website you will find all the instructions...
I seem to have had a thread deleted. Having not said what or where, and asking for advice on what to include or not I am amazed. What's going on with moderation when you can get away with all sorts of personal abuse yet can't seem to get a view of ordinary boat owners.
I don't post much, and...
I had to have an insurance survey for my Kingfisher K30 and surprise surprise the 15 year old rig, although superficially ok has to be replaced on the precautionary principle.
Can you recommend someone to do this for me please.
Thanks,
George.
I want to fit Barton Winchers to my Knowsley sheet winches. Yesterday I measured the winches across the top at 100mm or 4 inches in old money. When I got home ( 70 miles) I find that the measurement that I need is the diameter of the drum, not across the top lip. Bother. I will not be going back...
