Wednesday, a new Lagoon 55 caught fire on delivery from Sables d'Olonne. The crew tried to put it out, failed and took to the tender. Local rescue services SNSM picked them up and another Customs boat tackled the fire. Not successful and it sunk off La Couard sur Mer. The three crew were...

I have a Yamaha Malta, it suddenly stopped and it appears there is no spark, tried two other plugs, nada. Coil resistance matches another on a Suzuki.
I recall some realtively simple means, on the forum, of testing the module to eliminate it, as it could be the bit inside the flywheel.
Anybody...
So, have been slightly involved with an old Breton fishing boat. Dates from the 50's? and plank on frame. Had a step for a mast, but was fitted with an early Volvo Penta MD2.
We need to work out the weight to get a road legal trailer. He reckons over 1.5 Tons. Me, rather less.
So, on friday I...
Hi
Just fitting the transducer and no paperwork. The hull is horazontal across at this point, but angled up forward by about 12°.
So, is this within the allowance, or do I need to wedge it a bit?
Hull is ply and I will put a fairing on the projecting unit.
Thanks

So, after we swopped the 1GM for a 1GM10 in the Trapper, an odd problem has turned up.
The spring loaded gizmo that is on the end of the Teleflex cable and bolts to the gear lever on the transmission has managed to unscrew itself twice.
There appears to be no way you can hold the inner threaded...

A friend, looking for some Shrimper sails, has just asked me about this outfit in Devon.
Anybody with experience? Not connected with the outfit that has got so much flak on here?

Quick question for any owner who has looked at them:
Looking to replace the shrouds on a 29.2 and can't figure out what the top terminal looks like. There is a 'cover' or some bulge over where it goes into the mast, but can't see clearly. I assume it is a 'T' ? , but not clear.
Thanks

Not had reason to pull one apart before. But the new gearbox shift works in the opposite direction, so anybody know of it easy to reverse the push/pull action in the head?
Thanks

Looks like they are on the skids. In the hands of the court. There was a buyer, but he backed out after looking at the size of the financial hole and the banks have run out of patience. At the Paris Salon, the 11.81 was voted boat of the year... Pity, as they were very interesting boats. My...
Did some routine servicing last year on a VP 2030. It was then shifted from La Rochelle to Rochefort for the winter. Couple of days ago, he locks out and goes down the river. About an hour later the engine starts vibrating and the revs go up and down and a bit later overheats. They moor to a...
Following the question about NASA Clipper sounders. I notice that they also sell a rotating LED unit for a bit less. Does anybody use these? I always understood they gave an idea of bottom softness (ermm..) with the length of the light trace.
I happen to have an old Seafarer 700 in the shed and...

I am helping a friend haul his boat out in the next couple of days. It is a 17ft x 6'6"carvel built open launch with a twin Volvo 12hp diesel.
He seems to think it weighs quite a lot, me, less so and it affects the trailer needed, specificly the wheels. Trailer is not for the road, only to a...
