How to get my boat home from Spain?

Hi Hurricane I certainly don't mind you posting the photos and would certainly recommend Coast2Coast Transport. They did a very good job of transporting my boat and kept me informed of progress all the way.

Can anyone help in identifiying my bowthruster ?

Hi, I didn't need to replace it. Had the motor stripped down, rewound and baked. Fitted new brushes and the guy that carried out the work also replaced the Contacts in the 'reversing contactor'. All refitted and working well to this day.

    Sailrite

I had the window material replaced after 9 years, it was done with 2 rows of straight stitch which seem to be a very fine pitch. No welding, and was/is very successful. Don't think I had a UV problem, they were just dull and scratched. Of course I did NOT do this, a very useful guy in Sarisbury...

Anchor windlass - newby type question!

Hi M I have used this method with Rope & Chain as well as all chain. When hauling all chain you need a large ball fender. I used to make the Alderney ring (split type) at about 200/250mm Dia and had very few problems. Useful YouTube page here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7v8uiDWFnE

Anchor windlass - newby type question!

Peter Have a look at the Alderney Ring Method. Google/YouTube is your friend. I have used this successfully many times whilst fishing and depending on circumstances it works well. I found that a large ball fender works best. suggest you practice in the lagoon.

What is the largest boat one can single hand?

I totally agree Mike. Planning and a plan B, then get on with it. As you know I have single handed Ocean Tigress many times and should the need arise I'm not to proud to radio the marina and ask for assistance with taking the ropes. I really enjoy single handing.

Spanish Biscay - 22m transit berth

Hi Magnum. When I bought Ocean Tigress home from Villamoura we put into Gijon which had plenty of room and was a large commercial Marina (April 2006) with all facilities and an airport close by. We then crossed directly to La Rochelle which I'm sure you know is a huge marina again with all...
