Friend has a Garmin chartplotter 4012 with a problem, it suddenly stopped displaying charts, just produces a indistinct fuzzy background map.
Receives GPS signals and card chart works in other chartplotter(s) and software updates no use...

A small rib carrying what appeared to be a considerable quantity of highly inebriated youths, all shouting merrily away at the top of their voices, came past our moorings yesterday, while towing some other oik on a ringo.

Returning from a recent cruise , bothered to check T&Ps.
No oil pressure on one engine. :eek:
Spent night wondering just how much an engine rebuild will cost.
Spent following day grovelling around in engine compartment and dismantling dashboard etc.
Swap pressure senders and oil pressure gauges...
Seems to have lost its charts, no details , just fuzzy image of general area on the screen no matter how much you zoom in or out.
Diving into the menu to the "satellite" screen..... no satellites detected.
The "Mushroom" is functioning as another plotter and a radio also connected and also...
Weather not promising on Friday and a few faint hearts, no names no pack drill but mainly Broom owners , whimped out.

Paddle Steamer "Medway Queen" is celebrating the centenary of her launching , Rochester Cruising Club was approached to enquire if we would like to get involved.
We proposed a short cruise from our moorings to the present location of the Medway Queen at Gillingham Pier to view the work...
Biggish event on Saturday. Taking a few RNA folks on quick trip out in company with 5 other boats.
Popped down to boat which fortunately is only 10 mins away to check water and alcohol levels.
On a whim, decided to start engines, one refused to start.
Expecting the worst did some checks...
Will be beating the bounds of the Rochester Oyster and Fishery once again on the weekend of 6th to the 7th of July on two cruises organised by Rochester Cruising Club.
We will be going to the western boundary on the 6th up to the Hawkwood Stone
and down to Eastern limit at Garrison Point...

Helped to deliver a sub 30ft sailing boat today, no actual sailing, just using an engine too small to power a decent generator.
2.2 knots against the tide.
First time ever aboard a sailing yacht and an experience hope never ever to repeat.
Absolutely impossible to clamber forward on the boat...

RCC has been invited along by the Medway branch of RNA for events to celebrate the launching of the "Medway Queen"
We hope to take a group of ex RN personnel on 27th of March for a boat trip to the paddlesteamer in Gillingham Dock with a chance to view the restoration work being carried out.
