any good do you think. swageless fittings

are these fittings primarily for decorative architectural applications? I can't see how a compression fitting like this will have a break point proportionate to the wire diameter and they don't give any figures. The Stalok fittings are belt and braces in comparison with the cone compressing the...

    Are pontoons articulated?

When the twister was moored on the upper Hamble where the pontoons were very short (2 boat lengths?), they would, I imagine, have moved in sync with the boat?

    Are pontoons articulated?

Would this be the visitors pontoon, about 150 mtrs long? The construction is interesting because it isn't piled so must be anchored to the sea bed. With a 7 mtr max tidal range (Brest) that's really quite an achievement.

    Are pontoons articulated?

What interests me is the long non-articulated pontoons. The joint between each section of 10 or so mtrs is typically 3 flanges. Movement across such structures can be easily induced by simply rocking them; indeed a wave motion can be transmitted down the long axis if you're energetic enough -...

    Are pontoons articulated?

I mean long 100m midstream pontoons. I ask this to better understand the movement of the pontoon relative to the boat attached to it. A short, vicious, chop will create a wave pattern which if the direction of travel is with the lengthways direction of the pontoon, can lift the pontoon off the...

The wonderful world of portable generators as a practical solution for power tools

I've had a Clarke 1000 watt 4 stroke generator for 4 years and I did quite a big job requiring power for 6 weeks and it performed without fault. Like you I tried a Lidl multi tool and it shook me to bits; bought a Fein multi tool at vast expense but it was worth it. The generator powered the...

Is light coloured Treadmaster more prone to show stains?

Considering replacing fawn coloured Treadmaster with light grey. I'm thinking that this would be like laying white/cream coloured carpets and spending the rest of your life telling the children to take their shoes off before entering the house? Would anyone who has light grey Treadmaster care...

Passing my boat down to my son

These seemingly innocent questions can hide a truly horrific secret like no vat being paid on a fiddled purchase. Just get the rya bill of sale, get a broker's estimate of value and remember that in the UK you could be charged for sole use of the boat after sale to your son.
