+1 on rafiki, got sick of the noise and vibration of the diaphragm pump and changed it for a Gianneschi (sp?) bronze impeller pump, almost silent and for sure no pulsing noise when in operation.
Well worth it for me as I got it s/h for 200euro, but wouldn't fork out 1k for it new.
when you get her on the hard, post pics of the rams, easy to identify them (if bennet) but I wouldn't expect them to have the control you posted in the other thread...
If it's leaking in the water it's o rings in the ram itself, if it's leaking in the engine bay/inside transom, could well be...
+1 on what volvopaul says (not that I had to confirm what he's saying...)
friend had same engines, same problem, seem to remember at some point mentioning that diesel lubricates the HP pumps in CATs differently to other engines making them more prone to gumming up. I do remember he had to...
yep, I saw that, but they are not Velux... I've tried TK prop antifoul spray 7yrs ago didn't work at all, so not keen on trying something that I don't know it sort of works at least for one season!
Bouba, interesting to hear that they use Velux in spray cans, as after one year of trying applying Velux with a roller, I decided that it doesn't work and ended up shifting the thing into spray cans.
do they have it ready made in cans in chandlers or it's a diy thing like the one my guys do?
pressure sensor to gauge stack of fuel on top of sensor (so sensor fits on the outlet low down...)
Problems:
1. finding right kit (did my own custom with a 5euro differential sender into N2K via approriate teensy micro controller)
2. question if you can sleep at night knowing that all fuel...
nice! that's half what I paid (before taxes and transport to Greece) three years ago... Tempting to get a bank for home :D but still need to decide on panels' placement on a quasi-listed area where my house is :(
had to go back to OP Q after reading all the replies :)
I have one leg on each boat so to speak, I happily spent 4yrs restoring an old plywood 43ft mobo (mind started as a one season project that expanded ), but then I happily use it during the summer months as intended to.
The fact...
another difference not mentioned between land (real land) and boating application is that typically land applications wire panels in series up to 350-400VDC which then is easier to fit in smaller size conduits to travel to the secure, dry spot (garage basement whatever) where the...
not sure what SC had in mind, but since I'm currently designing a system for my home (in a city, with all services working, so no off-grid) I can list a few:
less limiting setup regarding orientation size and NUMBER of solar panels
mixing/matching production with grid, sending/receiving...
OK, I get that, so you're happy to have the mppt pumping something to make up for the loss of the fridge cycling and keep them effectively at 98 or so SoC for say an afternoon?
[I'm assuming you reach full charge on a day at midday, not running anything heavy and till the solar goes to sleep, so...
hm,
I also go up to 27,7V when charging (13,85V for 4cell banks) there it tapers off, stays on 27V (13,5V ) float for 30mins and then BMS wont let anything in the cells. No current whatsoever.
awful site, minimal info, assume it's like an SUP, so inflatable.
one dealer in GR with no webpage and a fb page updated last a year ago.
when you say horrendously expensive a couple of k euro or more? SUPs start at 300
Bouba, got a link of the company making them? want to see how they work and possibly persuade wife to go for one such thing compared to a simple paddleboard...
if I can find them here at a reasonable price that is!
SC, you are right in that the 12V guys do run close to 1C on 300Ah packs while cooking, which granted is the most demanding task (almost even worse than watermaking).
Hoever, even so you'll see real 1C whilst cooking for a few mins (imho) as inductive cookers are on pwm (or whatever) mode most...
fully agree with that, on my boat with a 304Ah@24V lifepo4 bank and 600W solar I charge at typically 0.05C (unless I get generator or engine - v.rare where I go up to 0.25C)
and max I can manage to discharge with watermaker and other things running is 0.3C.
Things are rather soft for lifepo4...
OG, could simply press and remove the SD card, check /clean the copper contacts underneath and push it back in.
When it fires up it gives you various info, among which is card type/date/etc. If these DONT appear, just the garmin logo and then off, then I'd expect the card to be dodgy.
Or could...
