Having been shore bound for too long, I would like to return to the water.

Ocean Yachtmaster is the aim, but for a shakedown, I would like to explore the ports of the BC and revisit those from many years ago.

The problem foreseen is that resulting from port hopping - returning to the port of departure.

Our departure port will probably be one of the Cardiff Bay marinas although our home club is Barry. Having spent time and money applying Coppercoat, I have recently learned that it doesn't like Barry Harbour mud so we need to relocate.
There is also the cost of purchasing and laying a mooring (and the prospect of undoing it all a few months later!).

National Express network seems promising covering the English and Welsh sides fairly well. Ireland is a different matter.

There seems to be a choice between keeping the car close by with regular short hops to keep up or forgetting it and returning to Cardiff.

Any opinions/advice please?
